A Maple Grove animal shelter that's served the northwest suburbs for decades is getting a significant makeover.
Officials at PUPS, or Pets Under Police Security, broke ground Monday on a nearly 1,000-square-foot expansion.
The $3.5 million expansion is expected to modernize the facility, making room for more animals.
